Mother –
It has been some time since my last letter and I fear it may be longer until my next. Know that I am well and on the road south through the territory around New Albion. I have a notion to explore the town of Amber and there find whatever comforts may be gleaned in a rough country such as this; though I expect they will be few and far between. I have a fair supply of funds and have kept safe the letter of credit you were so kind to provide me with upon my departure.
Give my regards to father if he will hear them out. Know that I bear him no ill will despite heated words which may have passed between us.
Yours Faithfully,
R
