It’s late and we return to the Pipe & Pint for dinner. During our meal, Liadan is approached by a halfling lawyer, Lonadek Blueheart, who has recently moved into town with his wife, Chicky. They are concerned that their house, inherited from his aunt, is haunted. They show us some peculiar glasses – found in the house – that exude faint divination magic that they believe should help but that haven’t worked for them. We agree to help them in the morning.
As they leave, another man tells us that someone took something from Rem’e’s person and ran out the door. Rem’e discovers his gun has been stolen!
Ariza bolts out the door, and the rest of us follow, chasing down the pickpocket. By the time we catch up, Ariza is facing a crew of thugs. We fight the thugs (one runs away), and Rem’e recovers his weapon.
We return to the Pipe & Pint to sleep and recover.
In the morning we gather some confections for Ruth and head to Advisor Wu’s.
Wu tells us about the trip to Basilisk Bluff and that we would be welcome to accompany him. He is awaiting a guide and finishing preparations and asks us to return in two days. Rem’e seeks out the Church of Abadar to store his money.
We seek out the Blueheart’s residence, a brick home in a middle-class area. They invite us in.
We visit a large room upstairs to find a magical box. The glasses appear to work exclusively for Liadan, and though others of us can sense it, only Liadan can see the box. Rhun recognizes something trans-dimensional about it.
Liadan opens the box and releases an magical construct of air. We fight the thing, defeating it primarily with Liadan’s magic (and scorching the walls of the upper chamber).
We report to the couple that all is well. They are happy.
