Campaign Summary #1

  • Liadan & Rhun and Ariza & Rem’e find their way to to the town of Amber where a gold rush has drawn many fortune seekers.  Liadan and Rhun, having travelled together from New Albion, meet Ariza and Rem’e at an inn where the four find themselves regular meal companions.
  • Over several days we learn the lay of the town and find that the mayor’s office is seeking parties capable of dangerous, investigative work.

  • Together we visit the mayors office and meet Tuxel Wu, Advisor to the Mayor.
  • Tuxel hires us to ascertain the whereabouts of two dwarven minors, brothers Grold and Durn, who left a week prior to investigate a rediscovered mine in the Iron Hills and who had not been heard from since.

  • We travel north to the mine without incident and enter the shaft straightaway looking for the brothers.
  • Inside we find veins of gold in the walls and the remains of many spiders dead and crisped by alchemist’s fire.
  • Down an eastern shaft, we discover Grold unconscious and badly beaten.  We revive him, and he worries for his brother further down the shaft where they were attacked by a “rock monster”.
  • After sending Grold outside, we find Durn still alive in a pile of rubble at the end of the eastern shaft and pull him free.
  • As soon as we do, we are set on by a monster made of gold and stone and Ariza is nearly killed.  We flee with Ariza and Durn and heal them.
  • The brothers are reunited outside the mine and very grateful.  They leave the following morning.

  • The following day, we return to the mine shaft and work together to defeat the stone creature.
  • We then investigate other shafts of the mine, finding our way to the west barred by a large crevasse.
  • Heading instead to the north, we find a web-filled tunnel where we are attacked by a giant spider.  We defeat the spider and discover the remains of an unfortunate adventurer in the webs who held some coins and a healing potion in his pouch.
  • We then settle outside for the evening to rest.

    • 800 xp, earth elemental

    • 400 xp, for rescuing the dwarves
